Terms of use
Terms for thoughtful professional use.
Effective August 28, 2026
These Terms govern use of CoClinica. By using the website, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. Questions may be sent to askcoclinica@gmail.com.
Eligibility and intended use
CoClinica is intended for licensed or appropriately supervised behavioral health professionals using it within their professional role, competence, scope of practice, and applicable law. It is not designed for direct use by clients or minors. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for activity that occurs through your account.
Clinical responsibility
CoClinica provides drafting, educational, organizational, and clinical-reasoning support. You remain responsible for assessment, diagnosis, formulation, treatment planning, documentation, consultation, supervision, informed consent, risk assessment, referrals, and every clinical decision. Do not rely on an output without reviewing its accuracy, relevance, cultural responsiveness, developmental fit, and appropriateness for the client and setting.
De-identified use
You may submit only de-identified information. You may not submit protected health information, direct identifiers, account credentials, payment information, or details that could reasonably identify a client. Identifier screening is limited and does not transfer responsibility for de-identification to CoClinica.
Prohibited uses
- Emergency, crisis, or imminent-risk decision-making
- Autonomous diagnosis, treatment selection, medication, hospitalization, discharge, or level-of-care decisions
- Use outside professional competence or authorization
- Direct client or minor access to the hosted clinician workspace
- Unlawful, harmful, deceptive, discriminatory, or rights-infringing activity
- Attempting to bypass security, misuse generation endpoints, resell access, scrape protected content, or reverse-engineer the service
Specialized approaches
References to specialized or protocol-based approaches do not provide training, certification, or authorization. You are responsible for meeting professional training and competency requirements before using any specialized protocol.
Diagnostic and external references
Diagnostic material is an independent educational reference and not the official diagnostic manual. Confirm diagnostic criteria, codes, laws, ethical requirements, and resource availability through current authoritative sources. Third-party names and links do not imply endorsement or affiliation.
Generated content
Generated content may be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, or similar to content generated for others. You are responsible for evaluating and editing it. CoClinica does not guarantee that generated content will be unique, clinically appropriate, or suitable for a particular purpose.
Local storage
My Library and drafts are device-local working tools, not an electronic health record, clinical record, secure backup, or cross-device storage service. You are responsible for securely managing downloaded files and backups.
Ownership and permitted use
CoClinica's name, branding, interface, original copy, workflows, and software are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Subject to these Terms, you may use and adapt outputs for your own lawful professional work. You may not reproduce or commercially distribute CoClinica itself, sell access without permission, or imply that a third party sponsors or endorses the service.
Availability
Features may change, be interrupted, or become unavailable. CoClinica may restrict access when needed to protect the service, users, third parties, or comply with law.
Memberships and billing
Membership prices, billing intervals, included access, and promotional terms are displayed before purchase. Memberships renew automatically at the stated interval until canceled. You may cancel through the available account or billing controls, and access continues through the end of the paid billing period unless otherwise stated at purchase. Stripe processes payments and billing information. Except where required by law or stated at purchase, completed payments are nonrefundable.
Membership access is intended for ordinary individual professional use. CoClinica may apply reasonable technical limits or temporarily restrict unusually high, automated, shared, or abusive use to protect service availability and operating costs.
Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, CoClinica is provided on an as-is and as-available basis without warranties of accuracy, reliability, availability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. CoClinica is not a substitute for professional services, supervision, legal advice, medical advice, or emergency care.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, CoClinica and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for clinical decisions, lost data, service interruption, or reliance on generated content. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so portions of this section may not apply to you.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
Changes
These Terms may be updated as CoClinica changes. Continued use after revised Terms are published constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by law.
